The weekend of March 6-8, our church had our Grand Re-Opening. Some of you may be puzzled as our church has been "open" for quite a few years! This re-opening was after Phase 1 of our building project was complete. The building you're looking at below is Winfield's Coffee House which faces the community and is open to the community as a "first encounter" - it's full of hospitable volunteers, awesome coffee and free wi-fi! It's so great!
Here's a pic of the newly renovated sanctuary. Most of the renovation is located on the other side. Office space, rehearsal rooms, dance studio, costume room and recording studio and more classrooms were all added. Another community outreach idea that will start in the fall is music lessons for kids who need them. Schools are cutting every program under the sun, so we thought we'd try to pick up the slack :)
As part of the grand opening, we had all sorts of fun booths for kids to play at - this one was fruit-loop necklaces. Of course, they really only made fruit-loop bracelets as they ate every other one while stringing them.

How exciting! What a great grand opening. I love the coffee shop idea for a first encounter and offering music lessons to the community. :) I love Grace's face paint.
Oh la la...who is that hot drummer? Good thing he's taken because he is one studly man!
oh brother :)
