Gracie returned to First United Methodist Preschool this week for a four-day week, 2 1/2 hours a day in Pre-K. So far she is having a great time. She squeezed my hand on the way in the first day and said, "Mom, I'm only this much scared (holding her two fingers up to signify about an inch's worth)." I prayed a quick little prayer with her and she skipped out after school, stating emphatically, "I had a great day!"
It's always fascinating to me the differences between our two girls' personalities. Gracie, while she didn't cry at all, wanted me there a few minutes longer and took a while to really "get into it." Hope, as you'll see below, is more adventurous.
Gracie signs in every day in order to practice her name :) She's very good at it already.
Hope's first day was so cute. She was excited about her backpack and water bottle. She announced that she already loves her teacher, "Me wuv Miss Shiber." (Mrs. Schreiber) She marched into class, hung her backpack on the hook, hugged her teacher and was off to the playdough table.
She did manage to pull herself away from the playdough long enough to give me a cheesy pose for her first day picture. Then, with a rather dismissive wave, she was off and didn't need me. (sniff, sniff)
Aunt Alecia came along for the drop-off and then treated me to a pedicure afterward. Not a bad way to spend my first 2 1/2 hours of freedom :)

The girls are so cute on their first day! And how nice to have 2 1/2 hours of freedom. What in the world will you do with yourself? :) You do such a great job of conveying the girls different personalities. It makes me feel like I know them well!!
PS I was thinking something looked different about you. Then I realized, no glasses! Did you get contacts, or just take them off for the pic?

I got contacts a while ago because in the summer my glasses slip so much cause I'm sweaty! - so now I'm versatile again!
Oh, my goodness! Those girls are so cute! I find their personalities facinating! Gracie is like combo Michelle-Joy (she might start off shy, but she feels things very deeply!). Who is Hope like? Or is she just like herself? :-)
