Santa Barbara Vacation

Last weekend (3/25-3/28) our family traveled to Santa Barbara for an alumni track gathering. Westmont was finally able to put in a beautiful all-weather track facility (it's gorgeous!). Brent's coach invited all track & field alumni back for the ceremony, and we thought it was a good time to start our indoctrination of our daughters' college choice (hee hee). So, we packed into the truck, made the trek with Aunt Alecia in tow (she wanted to visit her friends).
Santa Barbara - truly one of the most beautiful cities - holds lots of precious memories too :0)
East Beach Grill cooks yummy pancakes and is situated right on the beach - we ate there two mornings :0)

Brent's and my view from our table - the girls love the beach!

After breakfast, we went up to the college and attended chapel.
Both Brent and I really enjoyed it and it brought back fond memories. We both said we wished we would've known how special this experience was when we attended. After chapel, we made a trip to the student store for some college attire.

cute!

Longboard's for lunch on the pier!!

aaah! Corny Clan :0)

Sisters :0)
beach girls - the water in SB is pretty chilly.
This did not deter them.

they are darling, aren't they?

Coach Smelley is giving a few honorary remarks.
I neglected to get a pic of he and Brent together on the track :(
So, just imagine that, will you?
My friend Kathryn's daughter, Austen. She's the
same age as Hope. We're plotting for them to be roommates
someday - provided they succumb to our indoctrination attempts :)
my dear buddies, Kathryn and Nissa
We spent many an afternoon and evening at Paseo Nuevo,
the open-air mall in SB.
We drove home Sunday - totally zonked!
