Poopy Hopi

Hope is doing some challenging, but also funny things right now. I think the fact that she's so funny makes this so challenging.

When her will is thwarted she ducks her head down, furrows her little brow, sticks out her lower lip and mutters, "poopy," under her breath. I wish I had a video of it - it's hilarious. However, it probably needs to stop. She can't go to Sunday School and call the teacher "poopy" if she doesn't get her way. The other phrase she's learned (thanks to her big sister) is "Mean Mommy" which she also pulls out when appropriate. And by appropriate I mean when I've apparently done something "mean" like not allow her to have any candy.

So, thank goodness Hope doesn't know any really bad words because I think she'd pull them out in circumstances like these. It's sort of her version of "Screw you, Mom"

So, here's how it's been going at our house. One of us (either Brent or I) takes on the firm stance of a time out for this behavior, while the other one hides the chuckle. Seriously, I wish you all could see/hear this because it's hilarious. Nevertheless, she must be stopped. Her will must be thwarted. I WILL WIN! We'll keep you posted on any more poopy developments.

I can't believe that you don't let your girls have unlimited amounts of candy! :) That is such a cute story about Hope--she sounds like a cute little fiesty girl--I like it! :)

Love,
Kim

Hope should be allowed to say poopy whenever she wants

Oh my gosh. Was that comment from my mother? The woman who wouldn't let us say poop growing up, but insisted on "those intials"!?!?!? I see how it is, Grandma Dianne!
I love Hopie! And Gracie!

okay, so here's what's funny - I was showing Grandma Dianne how to leave comments yesterday and wrote that for her - she did object, actually, but since I was teaching her, she couldn't do anything about it - HA HA!

It's good to know that Grandma Dianne isn't about to lower her standards for her grandchildren! :) However, I am sure she would think it was funny if Hope said it around her.

This truly is the cutest story!

Glad Anya hasn't figured this one out yet, but just give her time!

As I see it, this should be payback for all the obnoxious things Brent says! Why is it you have to deal with it?? :)
